Fourth year in a row, the Skopje Marathon 2010 had a total number of over 2500 participants, which is double than the number of participants of last year. Through the streets of Skopje a storm of famous marathoners and many fans of the sport have happened.
The Hungarian Toth Tamas was the winner in the male category, crossing the 42 km long track in 2:28:56, whereas the Beijing Olympiad winner now racing under the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kimani Lucia, came first in the female category with a time of 2:55:56. The two marathon winners broke last year’s records.
The race of 5.000 m, at which a number of high officials and ambassadors took part, this year, was of humanitarian nature. The participation fee funds will be used for the procurement of medical equipment for the Children’s Hospital Kozle.
