A total number of 84 municipalities in the Republic of Macedonia were covered in the area of education and training, through the research phase, the introduction to the human rights approach,the development of indicators as well as through the relevant training for their use.

Direct target group and key partners in the project were representatives of national government agencies and local governments, public organizations and local authorities, civil society and other stakeholders.

In a broader sense of the term, the population on local and national level was targeted, with the objective and the intention of informing it and encouraging it to seek involvement in the policy making process, thus enabling it to play an active role in addressing the reported discrimination and/ or inequality. 

All activities were aimed at achieving the objectives of the project, including:

  • Improved implementation of national legislation on discrimination
  • Development of a national policy to combat discrimination and promote equality outside the legislation, and
  • Intensified informing on EU and national policy and legislation in the field of antidiscrimination.
