For the first time, the young people from Hungary, Romania, Albania, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, Montenegro and Macedonia on the same day held a peaceful protest with entertainment and music through which they sent a unique message “IT’S TIME for good jobs and decent pay”.

The “It’s time” Party took place on June 20, 2008 in Budapest, Sofia, Bucharest, Tirana, Zagreb, Sarajevo, Belgrade, Pristina, Podgorica and Skopje within the campaign for improving and increasing the number of jobs available to the youth.

The main target group of this event is students, the youth and the unemployed from South Eastern Europe. The youth organizations of the labour unions from 10 South Eastern European countries signed a declaration on March 1, 2008 in Skopje, by means of which they agreed to call upon the governments of their countries to get actively involved in the decision-making process aimed at achieving good jobs, decent pay, better working conditions, more jobs and greater opportunities.

The confederation of international labour unions in cooperation with the FES (Foundation Friedrich Ebers Stiftung) and the labour unions from the region for Macedonia, ”UNASM”, “KSS” and “SSM” are main supporters of this campaign.
